TEXTRAY PRIVACY

Burrito’s Labs LLC is responsible for personal information it handles for TextRay. Contact hello@burritoslabs.com for support or privacy requests.

Your working text. Documents, unsaved drafts, search indexes, saved Views, session/workspace arrangements and history are stored locally in your TextRay library. Saving writes to a file you choose. Closing a tab or session does not delete retained text. Storage settings control history retention. Keep independent backups before changing retention or deleting work. Uninstalling or updating the app does not remove your library.

Optional iCloud. When enabled, TextRay uses Apple CloudKit in your private iCloud database to synchronize retained text and associated organization/history records. Apple handles your account and cloud storage. Burrito’s Labs does not receive this content through the license service. Check the in-app iCloud status; a local save is distinct from completed cross-Mac synchronization.

Local editing and search do not send your text to an AI or analytics service. There is no analytics SDK or automatic diagnostic upload. Custom shell commands are programs you choose to run and can access files or the network with your account’s permissions. External links you open use your browser. These actions are separate from TextRay’s local search and editing.

Trial and licenses. Trial timing, a random installation identifier, device proof and signed license receipts are stored in this Mac’s Keychain. They are not synced with your documents. Activation sends your activation code, random identifier and proof to our license service. Recovery sends the purchase email; status checks and transfers send identifiers and proof. These requests exclude your text, document names, paths and searches. A license backup contains identifiers and a signed receipt; keep it private. Reinstalling normally retains the trial record.

Purchases and updates. Checkout opens Stripe Managed Payments in your browser, with purchases sold through Link. Stripe/Link process payment, tax and receipt details. We do not receive full card details. Cloudflare hosts the website and license service. Manual signed-update checks contact the release server and expose connection data such as IP address and app version. Automatic update checks and system profiling are off by default.

License records are kept while needed to honor and recover your purchase; transaction information may be retained for legal, tax and accounting obligations. Recovery codes expire. Codes are hashed in the license database; messages waiting for delivery are encrypted and cleared after delivery or expiry. Connection data supports abuse prevention. Support email is retained while needed to handle your request and related disputes. Do not send private text or license codes unless needed; we never upload diagnostics automatically. We do not sell personal information.

You may request access, correction or deletion of information we hold by contacting hello@burritoslabs.com, subject to applicable retention obligations and privacy rights. Your Apple account/cloud data and payment-provider records are also governed by their respective privacy policies.
